Assessing GPT

Written by Rachel Murphy

I keep checking the news about ChatGPT 5 like a kid waiting for a letter from Santa.

It’s not here yet, but they are dropping GPT 4.5 and the new Deep Research Mode. These updates matter.

I remember the first time I heard about ChatGPT. Honestly? I thought it was just another overblown AI trend. But at a Georgetown McCourt graduation, a classmate told me they were using it and encouraged me to try it.

Curious, I went home and opened my laptop to explore it with one question in mind: “What exactly is ChatGPT, and why should I care?” I hear this question all the time. Most do not care about technical details when

I train individuals and teams on AI. They want to know: Does this actually help me in my business practices or at home?

The answer? Yes.

For example, recently, I worked with a job seeker who was completely stuck. They had no clue where to start, felt lost about their strengths, and struggled to align their experiences into a clear story.

I showed them how to use ChatGPT to synthesize their strengths, job experiences, and interests that seemed disconnected  to turn them into a compelling, big-picture narrative.

With ChatGPT’s help, they:
✅ Identified their unique value in the job market.
✅ Crafted a stronger, more aligned resume.
✅ Gained confidence in how they present themselves to employers.

Why ChatGPT 4.5 and Deep Research Mode Matter
✅ It is free: Many do not realize anyone can try ChatGPT for free at chat.openai.com.
✅ It saves time: Draft emails, brainstorm ideas, or summarize reports faster.
✅ It is getting better: GPT 4.5 will improve responses, accuracy, and memory.
✅ Now with Deep Research Mode: Ask complex multi-layered questions and get structured, in-depth answers.

AI, like ChatGPT, is not just hype. It is a tool. And like any tool, it is only useful if you know how to use it.

If you have been curious about ChatGPT but have not tried it, now is the time. It saves you hours, sparks creativity, and helps you stay ahead.

Are you using ChatGPT? What has been your experience so far? Drop a comment. I would love to hear! 👇🏽
